The broken link checker tests every link on a page and lists the ones that return errors.
Broken links frustrate readers, waste crawl budget and make a site look neglected.
How to use it
- Paste the URL of the page.
- Press the orange button.
- Fix or remove the links marked with 4xx, 5xx or ERR.
Reading the results
- 200 means the link works.
- 301 or 302 means it redirects. Update it to the final URL.
- 404 means the page is gone.
- ERR means the site did not answer.
Tip
Broken links on other sites are also a link building chance. Offer the site owner your page as a working replacement.
