An SSL certificate encrypts traffic between your visitors and your site and shows the padlock in the browser. This checker tells you if a certificate is valid, who issued it and how many days are left.
Expired certificates scare visitors away and can drop your traffic overnight, so it is worth checking.
How to use it
- Type your domain.
- Press the orange button.
- Read the status, issuer, expiry date and days left.
What to look for
- Valid means the certificate matches the domain and is not expired.
- Less than 14 days left means renewal should happen now.
- A free issuer like Let’s Encrypt is fine and renews every 90 days.

Questions
Is a free SSL certificate good enough?
Yes. Browsers treat free and paid certificates the same for normal websites.
Why is it not valid when the site has a padlock?
The certificate may cover only www or only the root domain. Check both versions.
Does SSL help SEO?
HTTPS is a light ranking signal and it builds trust, so every site should use it.
