Page Authority (PA) is a 1 to 100 score from Moz that predicts how well one specific page can rank. Domain Authority looks at the whole site, while PA looks at a single URL, so two pages on the same site can have very different scores.
Use this checker before you buy a link, pick a page for a link insertion, or decide which of your own pages deserve more internal links.
How to use it
- Paste a domain or a full page URL.
- Press the orange button and wait a few seconds.
- Read PA next to DA, spam score and DC Score. A free account shows 3 Moz checks a day.
How to read Page Authority
- Below 20 is normal for new pages and small blogs.
- 20 to 40 is a solid page that earns some links.
- Above 40 usually means many strong sites link to that exact page.
- PA is a comparison score. Compare a page with the pages that rank for your keyword, not with giant brands.
Tip
A high PA page is a better place for a link insertion than a fresh post on the same site, because the page already has links pointing to it. If your own page has a low PA, add internal links from your strongest posts and earn a few relevant backlinks to it.
Questions
Is Page Authority a Google ranking factor?
No. Google does not use PA. It is a Moz estimate that tends to match how well pages rank, which makes it useful for comparing pages.
Why is PA lower than DA?
Most pages get fewer links than the site as a whole, so PA is usually lower. The home page is often the exception.
How often does PA change?
Moz refreshes its link index regularly. We keep each result for up to 30 days, so check again after that for fresh numbers.
